NEW VOCATIONS WEBSITE
Our new diocesan website dedicated to fostering priestly vocations, www.dolpriest.ca, was
launched on Priesthood Sunday, Sept. 29. The hope of this site is that it will lead young men who are discerning the priest- hood to discover the gift of their vocation, and offer them resources that are relevant to their experience. The site is regularly updated by Fr. Danny Santos, Director of Vocations and Seminarians. Please share the address of the website, in particular if you know of someone who might be interested in the priesthood.
COME AND SEE DISCERNMENT WEEKEND
St. Peter's Seminary invites men, age 17 or older and considering a call to the priesthood, to a discernment retreat from Nov. 1st to 3rd. This weekend retreat will offer first-hand experience of the life of a seminarian, spiritual helps for discernment, and an opportunity to meet current seminarians and faculty. To register or for more info, contact Fr. Danny Santos, Director of Vocations and Seminarians, at [email protected], or visit the new vocations website at dolpriest.ca/registration
QUO VADIS
Quo Vadis is Latin for “where are you going?” Tradition states that St. Peter asked Jesus this question as Peter was fleeing Rome due to the persecutions. St. Peter was cut to the heart by Christ’s response and returned to Rome to accept martyrdom. Is Jesus calling me to be a Catholic priest? It’s not an easy question to answer. It takes prayer and study to discover your true vocation. Quo Vadis is a discernment group of men like you who love Jesus Christ and His Church, and who are willing to talk with other like-minded men about their future. The group meetings aren’t meant to convince you that priesthood is your vocation. You could very well be called to marriage or to another vocation. But if you’re a faithful Catholic man between the ages of 18 and 35 – even if you’re currently dating – at some point you have to ask yourself whether God is calling you to be a priest. Contact Fr. Danny Santos for more information at [email protected]
