It certainly has been a different time and I would like to tell you how it’s changed things at our house. Luckily my husband can still work from home, so his day stays pretty normal. What has changed for the better is that, although we have no children at home, both of our lives used to be extremely busy with all of our various commitments and duties. Instead of passing each other in the hallways, we are learning how to spend time together again. We are learning the value of silence and a less hectic schedule. I am enjoying all of the activities various churches are having available online. I’ve always wanted to go to church every day-but there always seemed like something could prevent it. I now can join 100 or so of my favourite online friends and hear the word proclaimed.
I have begun to pray, read, and meditate more. It has been wonderful at lowering my anxiety level. When I feel hopeless and helpless to do anything to remedy our plight, it’s quiet conversations with God that help me through it. Gratitude for mine and my family’s health is also a great comfort. I know that God has my back. If all I can do at this time is pray, then like St Therese of Lisieux, I will pray unceasingly. And then I will pray some more.
May God bless you all with peace and comfort, and to cure those who are sick. In God all things are possible.
