Hello we are the Izgherian family, we are parishioners of Most Precious Blood Church.
When this pandemic started it changed our routine. I could no longer work and my children could no longer go to school. My husband was essential so he remained the same. At first we experienced grief. I myself grieved the loss of my job and routine. As a family I knew we needed to look at this pandemic in a positive way. We needed to adapt and accept that this is our new normal.
Our family has enjoyed the slow pace of life. We feel blessed that we are together, safe and healthy. We are working on enjoying the simple things in life and we are less focused on material wants. During this time we have had game nights, wrote inspirational quotes in our driveway, drew hearts on the window. We also have done a ton of baking and found projects around the house to complete. Before we eat dinner we go around the table and say one thing we are grateful for and one thing we are scared of during this pandemic. Family and health is the most common response to why we are grateful.
Our faith has remained strong. We believe COVID 19 is God's way of telling us to slow down, to reflect, pray and appreciate one another. Our society was losing touch with what really mattered. We became too focused on money and material possessions. Our belief that this pandemic is a transition to a new societal norm highlighting family, kindness and a sense of community. All of these aspects that the Bible stresses to us to be of importance.
